| Where Yvonne decided to learn to dive in Australia, Valentijn followed the PADI Open Water course in Holland. The lessons were the same, the temperature was the big difference.
They continued and became PADI Advanced Open Water Divers. Yvonne on Malta, Valentijn sticked to Holland. Which makes Valentijn way better in navigating underwater, with a viz of 30cm you need to trust your compass.
The PADI Rescue course they both did in Dutch waters. Heaps of fun!

3-4 days, four dives.
You learn the basic principles of scuba diving in the classroom, you make two dives in confined water to learn basic scuba skills and get on the boat for four open water dives to review your skills and explore! Being an Open Water Diver means you will have the freedom to dive anywhere to a maximum depth of 18 meters, unassisted by a dive professional.

2 days, five dives.
This course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. You will be introduced to Underwater navigation, Deeper water diving (18 – 30 meters) and night diving.
3 days, 4 dives
This course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. It is hard work and a lot of fun at the same time. You learn: self rescue Recognizing and managing stress in other divers Emergency management and equipment Rescuing panicked divers Rescuing unresponsive divers

PADI Specialties
PADI offers a lot courses to specialize your knowledge. To name a few: Deep diver, learn to dive to a maximum depth of 40 meter.
Enriched Air Diver, more oxygen means longer dives. Digital Underwater Photographer, learn to take photos underwater Coral Reef Conservation Diver, coral: plant or animal? Animal!
Minimum: 3 weeks and as long as you need/like. Unlimited dives In this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. It develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

You gain additional experience as a Professional scuba diver and start learning the PADI system of diver education. You can act as an instructional scuba assistant and assume limited teaching responsibilities. It’s a great way to gain experience in order to become a scuba instructor.
It introduces you to the entire PADI System of diver education and concentrates on further developing you abilities as a professional dive educator. After becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor, you will be able to conduct the entire range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba Diving up to Divemaster.

As a PADI MSDT, you demonstrate to a dive employer that you have good experience in teaching diving and also can teach a range of specialty diver courses. This makes a dive center or resort more likely to offer you a position. To qualify as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, you must •Be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor •Have five PADI Specialty Instructor certifications •Have certified at least 25 PADI Divers
